Artist artwork

Currently the media browser displays one of the album art pictures for the artist in the [album artist/albums] selection
Is it possible to display a dedicated artist picture instead, and if yes, how would one have to name the file and where to put it?

For example:

From my tests, the first image (embedded artwork as artist) found in a file of the artist  gets displayed and stored in cache as the artist thumbnail.

That pointed me in the right direction.
If you put an "artist.png" (or jpg presumeably) into one of the album folders it works without embedding.

thanks a lot!

That also works but only if the folder name is the same as the artist tag and the tracks are in the same folder.

It doesn't work if the folder name is artist - album.

If album is a subdirectory of artist,it works. (when artist png is in the subdirectory)

Um, no. foldernames on the phone are "%year% %album%" (i only copied the album folders, not even the "%artist%/%year% %album%" structure from pc) and it works.

It seems to work as long as there is an "artist.png" next to a tagged audio file.

It seems to pick the first found, either embedded or artist.png and storing that reference in the db.
Once stored, all others are ignored.
