foobar2000 package at PortableApps.com

Greetings all. We'd like to make a portable package of foobar2000 available at PortableApps.com but would like to ensure we have permission before doing so. Who would be the best contact?

Thanks!

I'm not the person to ask, just a Foobar user, but am wondering if you know that Foobar already offers to do a completely portable install when you run the installer exe.  Having used it for many years I (and many others!) can attest that the single-folder install thus obtained is completely self-contained, creates no registry entries on its own, and places no files/subfolders outside the chosen portable install's folder.

That said, I gratefully use several PortableApps versions of applications not as accomodating as Foobar, and thank you very much for making them available at your site.

I know, and it can automatically appear in the PA.c Platform if you install it to PortableApps\foobar2000 or similar, but the files within will be in a bit different format than users expect (it won't work with the Platform's backup Data function, for instance, since all its data isn't within PortableApps\foobar2000\Data). And it doesn't support click to install and auto-update via the platform, making it easier to get started and stay up to date. foobar2000 is far more portable than most apps we portablize (it even does relative paths in its library by default) and is generally targeted at a more technical audience, so it's not critical for it to be in our App Store. But we've had a number of users ask for it over the years to make it easier. Plus, I'd like to include it so more folks use it as it's been my primary music player for years.

Glad you're getting use out of our other apps! You're welcome.

If you don't use the PA.c Platform (about 75% of our site visitors do) and you don't mind putting in the technical work yourself and aren't concerned with some things being less portable or leaving things behind, our site isn't really designed to be your first resource. You'd want to use a site like PortableFreeware.com.

I honestly think that is a valid concern. Especially to those who already use Portableapps but don't already use foobar2000.

Let's see:
* I don't need Portableapps for my portable foobar2000.
* The information that I don't need Portableapps for a portable foobar2000 would likely have cost me some time and effort to dig up if I weren't already a foobar2000 user
* Those who are not already foobar2000 users, but are searching around for "some player that can work this way" - either they could dig through the details of an arbitrary number of players before (maybe) settling on foobar2000, or they would go to PortableApps or PortableFreeware or ... and miss foobar2000 if it isn't there.
* People using Portableapps for their portable apps probably use Portableapps for more than one portable app already ;-)

For similar reason I don't see much wrong about even packaging https://perkele.cc/software/boom
