Save Apple Music

Hello,

Not sure if the right place to ask, as I am new...
Is there a way to stream Apple music and save for later so I can listen offline? and also transfer to my android phone?

Since apparently Apple Music is an online streaming service by Apple, you won't be able to save the songs on your devices unless Apple provides a way to do this. You get what you pay for, and the service is limited to streaming of audio, nothing else.

Just to be clear, there are obvious and trivial methods to obtain a "copy" of the stream, but any discussion regarding this topic is subject to administrative action for violation of ToS #9.
It's only audiophile if it's inconvenient.

Not what you asked for, but apple announced an app for android which you can use for their streaming service. I don't know if there's already a schedule for when it will be published though. Perhaps google will help you there.

I was just going to post the same thing. The Android app for Apple Music is on its way...

As an alternative, you could take an analog recording from the headphone output of your Apple device, feed it to the analog input on your computer and re-encode the music.

Legal? Probably, though it depends on your local copyright laws. Worth the effort? No way.

Or you could just buy music in a format that isn't horribly encumbered by DRM and doesn't restrict the availability of music based on the nebulous whims of large faceless corporations. In other words, buy a CD or non-DRM download :-)

Music you buy from apple or download in the context of their music match service has no drm for quite a while now.

Not the music you stream from Apple Music, however, which was what the OP asked about.

I doubt there's any streaming service that doesn't use drm on copyrighted music.

That's exactly my point :-)

The only streaming sites I trust are music lockers like Google Play Music and iTunes Match, where you can upload your own files. With any other type of streaming, you run into issues where only part of an artist's catalog is available due to switching labels mid-career or having certain artists or albums suddenly disappear due to disagreements between the streaming service and the labels.

iTunes allows marking tracks to be available offline both on your pc and in the iOS app. It would be odd if they excluded that functionality from the upcoming Android app.

Objection. In my opionion, Watermarking is just a more hidden and user friendly kind of DRM.

Yes, I read about the Apple Music service for android too...however I think it is going to take a while until this is going to happen...what I am also wondering about is if that if you already have an account but also want Apple Music on your android, will you have to get an additional subscription or transfer the same subscription to android also?

An offline mode option, like Spotify has, would be great.
However, there are the third party tools that come in handy but you would have to pay for such a tool a few bucks also.
Tunebite advertises to be legal and pretty good at what it does: http://odd-dials.com/en/how_to_record_stream...ple_itunes.html, downside is that it costs.
Otherwise you can also google such spotify recorders, or for any other streaming sites for that matter.

Apple Music has an offline mode.  I've used it.  Works great.

I'll load up some albums when I have wifi and then listen to them when I'm on a flight.
