Foobar causes Windows Vista to freeze

Hi. I'm new to this forum. I searched the forum but couldn't find an answer to my problem.  I recently downloaded Foobar 2000 v1.2.9 and the converter extension. I also downloaded the lame binary decoder from the recommended site. When I convert a cd audio (cda) file to mp3 my computer sometimes freezes - nothing works not even the mouse pointer. I have to reboot in normal mode.  After rebooting everything works fine until I try to convert multiple files again.  The system does not freeze every time I try to convert. It has only done it while trying to convert 2 or more files at once. It has not frozen while converting just one file (at least not yet).  I've tried the troubleshooting link from Foobar but it found no problem. I have not had time to try all of the features on the program but so far this is the only problem I've had.

I'm using Windows Vista Home, AMD 3-Core 2.10 GHz, 3 GB ram, 32-bit OS

Any ideas?  Is there a known issue with Foobar and Vista?

Sounds like you have a overheating problem.

Try using a program like CoreTemp and see what your cpu temps are when you are doing the conversion. Attach a screenshot of CoreTemp if you can.

is this a laptop or desktop? how new?

If it's a desktop, open the case and make sure everything is nice and clean and make sure the CPU fan is plugged in and spinning.
