The new DTS component

The new DTS component does NOT work!!!  It will generate lots of false error messages, very annoying.  I have to go back to old version 0.3.3 to fix it.   I have seen so many people complained about it,  please put back this good old version.  Thanks!

I beg to differ, the DTS decoder 0.5.3 works like a charm here. The 4.x series was pulled back.

Also wrong (sub) forum, 3rd party plugins would be the correct one.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

Wait until someone releases something that uses FFmpeg for DTS decoding. This library currently in use is now already obsolete.

An FFmpeg using component will necessarily be several megabytes in size, owing to bundling a version of FFmpeg that even only supports the DTS format and codec is still quite large.

For some reasons Peter was able to build ffmpeg that only supports mp3, ogg, aac and it is only ~1.27 MB (avcodec-fb2k-57.dll+avutil-fb2k-55.dll)

Right. And I have a folder that exists for the express purpose of building FFmpeg for VGMStream. It is about 2.66 GB, using about 2.78 GB of actual disk space. I would need to duplicate this folder to conveniently maintain two different configurations of FFmpeg. My distribution would be necessarily different, because it would also include libavformat, since I also parse DTS files myself, as well as supplying a packet decoder.

I actually have no idea how one instantiates a particular libavcodec decoder outside of having libavformat supply codec setup information for you, so I would need to research how to implement a DTS packet decoder using libavcodec alone, as well as using libavcodec+libavformat for .DTS raw bitstream files.
