More accessible playlist view layout switching?

When tracks are shuffled, playlist view grouping doesn't make much sense, but when tracks are ordered it is convenient, as we all know I guess, as I also guess that my next scenario is common.
Changing playlist view in these two modes should be more straight-forward. For example, if in "ordered mode" and I switch to playlist with random tracks, I can disable grouping by RMC columns titles, hovering Groups menu item and selecting "None", but then I had to add another column to be able to see artist/album names, as I don't have that column when playlist items are grouped, because it is redundant by grouping title. This column is appended on current columns and I need to drag it to right place, as playlist view columns preferences doesn't posses layout memory. And finally adjust columns widths.

OTOH, playlist view doesn't have some playlist attribute that will remember previous playlist state, as another possible solution.

What I could do as a compromise, is use artist/album column and grouping at the same time, so that although I'll have artist/album in grouping title, I'll have it as column repeated for every item.

Are there other working solution (w/o using third-party hooks) that can let me do transition from "album playback mode" to "random playback mode" easier that explained above?

You could just have two different play list views, one for sorted playlists and another for unordered playlists. I prefer to keep my play lists sorted and just use the playback order set to shuffle.

Have you tried creating two separate layouts/columns (in CUI) and relying on a special character in the playlist's name as a toggle to show only one of them at a time? I haven't tested, but hopefully the two column can preserve their orientations and when one disappears the other will automatically get focused and apply the new order. Turning off/altering grouping on specific playlists should definitely not be a problem though.

Thanks for your replies

@LifeWOutMilk: Interesting idea, I haven't thought till now that adding two views has any use, but in this case it's handy. However I won't add yet another tabstack to my layout. It's not worth it, IMHO.

@Daeron: I use DUI, and did expect that this is possible in CUI. Good for reference to others having same question/problem

And to make my post a bit useful, I tried simplaylist, but nothing there regarding this problem - it has grouping presets like default playlist view, and that's all
I didn't try ssenna's playlist views, as they look too exotic, and I don't want changes for small problems.

It isn't necessary to add a tabstack. Just bind Previous Playlist and Next Playlist to keyboard shortcuts to cycle between playlists.
