help with dumb newbie type question

After four re-formats in four weeks, I can't remember anything- thanks to the fine maker of my computer. Before I try to remember where I need to look for this- can you tell me if the fast extreme setting is okay with the 3.90.2 version (the latest?) or is fast just for standard. Appreciate any help- thanks.

--alt-preset fast extreme is ok. 3.90.2 is basically 3.91. And as you can see here, there was only a small bug for --alt-preset fast standard, in 3.90: http://www.mp3dev.org/mp3/history.html
