'Test before copy'

In XLD's preferences, there is a 'Test before copy (half as fast)' option where you can select either 'Always' or 'Only when track isn't in AR database'. I'm a bit confused as to whether this feature is a 'need' or not when it comes to pristine DAE. Currently I've got it on the latter option: 'only when track isn't in AR...' Should I turn on 'Always' or is it unessential (well, except for less than pristine discs of course).
