Converter with Normalizing/Maximizing

Hello. Im using the converter of foobar and Im searching vor function to set in all files a maximum of -9 db. I have tried ReplayGain: When start with a file that has a peak of 0 db it will go to -9db. But when it has already -9db an i use ReplayGain it will end up with -18db and so on. Any suggestions?

Not possible using ReplayGain because it works with perceived loudness, not peaks.
The closest you can get is probably using RG in "only prevent clipping according to the peak" with large gain like +20 dB and the -6 dB hard limiter DSP.
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

I have tested this and the peak is only at -1,15 db. (before the conversion -0,10 db)

Perceived loudness would maybe ok too. But when i use rg in the converter on the same file several times, the loudness decreases every time. My settings are wrong i think.

Are your input files properly ReplayGain scanned? This is all a two pass process.
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

I need this on the fly at the conversion. I dont know, if the scan is done during conversion. I want do make a preset, put some random files in and start.

You can't limit anything without doing some kind of a scan before. For example, if a song would be almost silent for 3/4 from the beginning but have a grandiose finale at the end, you need to know it before starting the whole conversion.

If you can, you could just "ReplayGain scan them as separate tracks" first. If not, foobar2000 is apparently not capable of accomplishing your task.

I know that files have to be scanned before gain modifcation, but that is not the question. Can't RG do this scan on the fly during conversation?

RG is perfect for playing mp3 in a playlist whithout modifing them permanently. But what im looking for is a permanent modification of the file like when i put them in goldwave an press maximation or normalization. That is the only function i havent found in foobar converter yet.

(i can't use a tag based replaygain because i work with wav-files)

No, you have to scan the tracks with ReplayGain before conversation in order to  modificate tracks permanently.  When you choose ReplayGain during conversation only files with a RG info will be modificated.

Thank you for the answers!

Is there any chance that the next foobar version gets an simple normalizer for the conversion of wav-files? or is der any plug in? All other functions like resampling, 16->24 bit conversion, channel mixer and so on a very good!
