Use VSTs in Windows

Hi.

Newbie here, so please bear with me

I'm gonna ask what is probably a dumb question.

Is there any way to use a VST directly in Windows? I mean, some sort of wrapper, like George Yohng's VST wrapper for foobar, but that works on ALL Windows audio in realtime, like Leif Claesson's Breakaway?

TIA,
staqUUR

One example which should work:

Virtual Audio Cable and a VSTHost software.

By setting VAC "Cable n" as def. output device (start run... mmsys.cpl) and then take  the "Cable n" as input on VSTHost software (where those VST plug-ins are inserted) which then outputs directly through either WDM/Kernel Streaming or ASIO (Asio4All should work as well because of being WDM/KS wrapper).

Juha, thanks for the prompt answer. I'll check it out ASAP.

All this was prompted by foobar's somewhat unstable VST wrapper.
I hope your method provides better stability

I seem to remember that Breakaway uses VAC.
