Anybody else having problems with the FreeDB at the moment?

I can confirm that I cannot retrieve data from any of the FreeDB servers. This applies to EAC and Tag & Rename. As a workaround I use Tag&Rename to fetch the tags from Amazon.

How do I do that?

How do I change the server in EAC?

See the documentation on http://freedb.musicbrainz.org/ for setting it to use the Musicbrainz freedb gateway, or you can use the freedb2 (tracktype) server instead.

i was having this trouble..starting yesterday..couldn't access freedb from EAC. I tried audiograbber and the amazing slow downer..and couldn't access freedb from there either.

So..i ran CC cleaner

then i ran spybot search and destroy..and it found a registry entry that had...adaware3..or something like that in it..forgive me for not having written down the exact registry entry. I told spybot to fix it..

then i ran..

Cleanup!

and was able to access freedb again. If anyone else runs spybot looking for the registry entry..maybe they can post it here.

Nah, it wasn't your adaware entry. The freedb server just happened to come back up while you were running spybot--freedb's been down for a few days now.

Looks like http access is working again but the cddb server running on 888/8880 isn't running (connection refused).

Edit: whoops, it is running--they changed the server IP address.
