EMU 0404 <PCI> KS working in foobar?

i was looking for a soundcard that has AES/EBU outs, x64drivers, KS support, no resampling. the emu 0404 seems to be the ideal card for me. i just wonder if the card really supports KS in foobar. the technical support of emu replied this to my questions:

Dear Benjamin.

Thank you for contacting E-MU Support.

The card does not do any resampling.

The driver does support both WDM/KS and ASIO.

The digital outputs can be switched to AES/EBU, but you will need an
additional 3rd party adapter cable.

Now there is this thread were somebody mentions that KS does not work at all and ASIO has issues. but this person has the usb version of the card. can anybody confirm that the pci version that i want to buy has the same problems or does it work with foobar and ks?

Hi,
I'm using an e-mu 0404 (PCI) with ASIO. Never had problems playing my music in foovar2000! Great soundcard! At the beginning i tested KS, as far as I remember, no probs too!

hi harald,
if you are still using foobar could maybe switch the output to KS and give me a short reply if it really works? that would help me alot.

you get the KS output plugin here:

thank you

I have E-MU 0404. I am using it with Foobar 0.8.3 and 0.9, ASIO plugins v0.54 and 1.2.4 respectively. No problems. E-MU allows up to 16 simultaneous stereo ASIO streams, for example 16 instances of Foobar 9. The card will automatically switch its clock to 44100 Hz and 48000 Hz depending on input signal and can be switched to 96 kHz and 192 kHz manually, so no resampling.

ASIO is a standard way to communicate with the soundcard bypassing Windows mixer (you have your own E-MU DSP Patch Mix). I will be able to access this soundcard tomorrow, if you insist on testing the KS output plugin.

I've been using Foobar with KS through an 0404 for over a year now - never had a problem.

I believe esa372 is right. However, for me out_ks fell out with "KS output error: error opening device".

If you're talking about KS: E-DSP WAVE being kernel streaming, it works for me with my 0404. I'm running foobar 0.9.4.3 and the 1.81 E-MU drivers. Firmware version is 1.1. I'm using the digital outs.

Sorry for answering so late!
Tested foobar with KS output to my e-mu 0404 yesterday. Worked without problems!
Hope I could help

I was playing around a little the other day and I get errors when trying to play 48kHz files with foobar using KS output. No problems with 44kHz.
