No, you must decode them in wav files with mppdec you can find here.
It's a line command program, if you want, a frontend is avaiable here

I know that Burnatonce v0.95 Beta supports creating Audio CD`s from mpc files.
Not sure about the official released 0.91 Beta, but maybe worth a try  B)

Any burning programs that burn MP3s 'on the fly' decode the MP3 to plain WAV during the burning stage.

A decoder is always needed, for MP3 as well as for MPC. (even if you don't see it)

Yes it can - both a Standard Audio CD (where dBpowerAMP automatically decodes the mpc file), or a mpc CD (data cd with mpc files on it). You need the mpc input codec from Codec Central on dBpoweramp.com

@ Q

How does this mppdec.exe work with EAC. I've installed the exe into the EAC directory, but when I try to decompress an .mpc file, I only get the error message 'Can't open selected CODEC'

What's going wrong?

Weird Music Mafia: This may be glaringly obvious but have you tried restarting the EAC app? I was having the same issue as yourself until I reloaded EAC.

No, sorry! Just restarting doesn't work!
Any suggestions?

Which of the modified codecs did you try? I used the NoGain....didn't try using any of the others.

No idea. Make sure it's in the eac root directory (not in subfolder).

Edit: Damn, I should read more carefully. It seems the eac can see the decoder.  You sure you have the modified one?

I used the 'no gain', too. It resides just in the EAC Directory. I wonder why the error message speaks of a CODEC, the mpc exe is just an decoder. So did I miss to install some full codec for mpc???

Make sure you have the latest beta of EAC.  I did a fresh install yesterday, placed the modified NoGain mppdec.exe in the EAC program directory and had no issues burning upon restarting the app.

mppdec is an executable embedded with the mpc codec which it utilizes to decode to wav.  That's my understanding anyway.

So I obviously missed to install the codec itself. Which files are needed?

I did nothing to the installation of EAC other than add the modified NoGain mppdec.exe to the program directory.
