removing files from library

whenever i remove files from library, delete them from my computer, etc... they still show up in my library when i re-open foobar! I've tried "rescan media library", etc... but i'm still stuck with nonexistant files throughout my library and browser. Most annoying, of course, is this happens when i move a file from one location to another. it'll register the new location and add a new listing to my library, but the old one will remain after repeated removals from library and rescans of media...

how can i fix this?

Slightly related, how can I prevent some folders to be scanned into foobar2000?

I.e. I have a folder called D:\music, within it is a subfolder called D:\music\transcode for nana, how do I prevent the subfolder from being scanned?

hmmm, I use albumlist and what I do is right-click on the artist name, "remove dead entries". Every couple of days I do that from "all music" to take care of the ones I missed. But since I'm overly paraniod, whenever I do a complete re-scan, I empty all playlists, delete the database file, restart foobar then scan.

~~

Actually, no sense in doing a remove dead for all music. Might as well just delete db file and rescan. A remove dead from all music takes as long as doing a fresh scan

Would this database file be the one on the Application Data / Foobar folder called database.fpl??

I'm having the same problem. All my old MP3's that I've deleted ages ago still appear in the album list!

Scanning for dead tracks works then when I close Foobar and open it again it reverts back to the old list.

Or you can just empty them before you close down foobar, that way you don't have to recreate them.
