Loggersoft AAC frontend in foobar2000?

Is it possible to use Loggersoft's Ahead AAC Encoder Frontend (I found the version 0.79.065 - is there a newer one? where?) as a commandline encoder in foobar2000? I've tried to use it, but I always get an error like this:

If this is not possible, can someone please reccommend me a decent command-line AAC encoder which I can use in foobar2000 (and how to set it up)?

edit: I can't see how to wrap the data in aac container rather than mp4. Is mp4 container a problem for hardware players, e.g. iPods (older or newer)?
I'd still be happy if someone told me how to set Loggersoft's frontend.

This thread has recommended settings for foobar and EAC.

As far as I understood it AAC is not a container.  I don't think that you can encode to AAC, but I don't understand these things fully.  You can specify the extension as MP4, or M4A for iPods.

It is a real encoder. I'm not sure what you mean by that phrase, but it does not need Nero installed or any additional DLLs.  It's as real as they come.

The way I see it, you now have neroAacEnc.exe or iTunesEncode.exe as your main options.

As far as I know, iPods don't even play AAC if it's not in the MP4 container.

I think Apple requires you rename the files to M4A, though.

Essentially nothing will play .aac, so you have to use mp4/m4a.  I'm fairly certain the Ipod will work with .mp4 files.  I used them for a while on my old 3G.

I was referring to the Loggersoft, which won't work without Nero's DLLs in its directory (thank God it doesn't require Nero installed, since I never use it).

Yes, I guessed as much.  It is good news that neroAacEnc does not rely on a Nero install.  Most generous.

As far as I understand it their philosophy is to let the encoder make decisions, and keep command line switches to a minimum.  I cannot answer your question directly, as I don't really understand the terms so such mentions go in one ear and out the other.  You will have to trawl the beast that is Nero Releases FREE Reference Quality MPEG-4 Audio Encoder, or hope someone more knowledgeable sees this.
