Bitrate-problem

Hi,

I have a little problem with some of my mp3-files. I ripped and encoded them with the usual EAC & LAME combination. Files are all ok.
Then I tested several Multi-ID3-Tagger and one of them, don't know which, messed up the bitrate. The files are VBR, but whether I use Winamp or whatever, some file's bitrates are displayed as 160 (not VBR). When I start such a file in Winamp (v5.12), it displays 211 as bitrate, slowly increasing to 230, falling back a bit, raising a bit again and so on.
Is there a way to rewrite the bitrate-information without reencoding? The file works fine, but I want to make sure it really IS fine...

Thank you,

MMG

Hi MMG,

you can use foobar to re-write the VBR header

Hi Sunhillow,

thanks, that worked! The filelength now differs from the broken one, but I guess that is due to miscalculation, the new one should be correct.
Meanwhile, I noticed some high-pitched noise in the background, I will have to check whether it occurs in the master as well.
