I know a couple of people waiting for a windows binary.

Why oh why did Apple have to break compatiblity? Stupid oxymorons.

I wonder how you would compile it in Windows.  I don't see any VC++ project files in the source code and there's no "windows-version" of the source.

It's an Xcode project, and it uses OS X frameworks and packaging.

This can't simply be recompiled for Windows, it needs to be ported.

Maybe because migrating to CoreAudio makes so much more sense that staying with the old QuickTime APIs?

Why don't you complain about Microsoft abandoning Video for Windows in favour of DirectShow?

it may be a bad idea to hijack this as a "lets complain about microsoft" thread, roberto...

So does it still essentially use the Sound Manager, or is it a real Core Audio AudioCodec now?

I know.  I was under the impression that it included the windows port as well since there are windows versions of this plugin.

It's definitely a logical step for Xiph.Org.  iTunes is becoming very popular, thanks to the iPod, so Vorbis playback is a welcome addition.  I just hope that the Windows version will be out soon.  I wonder how many developers are working on it.

And the logo is very sexy
