--------------------------------
MP3 Surround Commandline Encoder
--------------------------------
It converts 5.1 channel '.wav'-files to MP3 Surround files.
Features:
---------
- 16 or 24 bit resolution.
- 44.1 or 48 kHz sampling rate.
- Standard wave-format or wave-format extensible.
- Runs at a total constant bitrate of 192 kbit/s.
Note:
-----
For both formats (standard wave and wave extensible) the channels
have to be interleaved and in the order:
Left Front, Right Front, Center, LFE, Left Surround, Right Surround
The MP3 Surround Encoder does not accept 5.1 channel '.wav'-files
that carry a stereo signal only.
Usage:
------
In a Windows Command shell type:
mp3sEncoder.exe input.wav output.mp3
to convert input.wav to output.mp3
MP3 Surround files can be played in stereo on any
standard MP3 player or software.
------------------------------
MP3 Surround Graphical Encoder
------------------------------
The MP3 Surround Graphical Encoder has the same features and restrictions
as the MP3 Surround Commandline Encoder.
Additionally the MP3 Surround Graphical Encoder supports Multi-File-Encoding.
Usage:
------
Drag and Drop a selection of 5.1 channel '.wav'-files on the
MP3 Surround Graphical Encoder.
Note:
-----
To increase the encoding speed you can disable the rotating animation by
pressing the right mouse key and selecting 'Disable Animation' in the context menu.
--------------------------------
MP3 Surround Commandline Decoder
--------------------------------
It converts MP3 Surround files to 5.1 channel '.wav'-Files.
Features:
---------
- Writes 5.1 standard wave-format files
- 16 bit resolution
Note:
-----
The channels are interleaved and in the order:
Left Front, Right Front, Center, LFE, Left Surround, Right Surround
Usage:
------
In a Windows Command shell type:
mp3sDecoder.exe output.mp3 output.wav
to convert output.mp3 to output.wav
The MP3 Surround Decoder produces always six channels.
If the files are 'normal' MP3 files without surround extension,
only 2 of the 5.1 output channels contain the audio signal
and additionally four empty channels are added.
----------------------------
MP3 Surround Realtime Player
----------------------------
It plays MP3 Surround files and standard MP3 stereo files on
your multichannel soundcard.
Start mp3sPlayer and open an MP3 (Surround) file or just
drag it onto the player window.
Make sure:
----------
- Direct X Version 9.0 or greater is installed
- A 5.1 capable soundcard is installed and 5.1 speakers are connected
- The speaker settings are set to '5.1 Surround Sound'
For information how to set the speaker settings use the Windows Help Center.
If the player detects an MP3 Surround file, the 5.1 reproduction
starts automatically. Toggling the '5.1 button' switches between stereo
and 5.1 surround sound.
For standard stereo MP3 files this button is deactivated.
