foo_sid slowness with zip archives

Is there any sensible reason why loading zip archives with largeish amounts of sid tunes takes suprisingly long time? This happens even when they aren't compressed in the zip.

The reason why I'm bringing this up is that keeping all those small tunes in few archives would greatly reduce the filesystem overhead caused by fixed cluster size.
