Mp4 boradcast

Need some help, so I've come to the land of the techies.

trying to set up an mp4 broadcast from site A, that is available to radio stations across Northern US and Canada. Is it possible to achieve broadcast quality with just a laptop on one end and quicktime on the other? If not what other toys will I need?

If this is really involved, I'm not above "hiring" someone...

Just so I'm clear.

I download the server prog.  How do we send it to other stations?  Do we need a streaming server, or does the server program make the stream available to those who would recieve it???

You can run encode and broadcast on one machine if you use mp4live from mpeg4ip. You can also encode using mp4live in one machine and then stream audio data to another computer running Darwin server to which your clients will connect.
