Let it be... Naked: dynamics limiter used

I have been waiting for a "pure" recording of Let it be for a long time. Now, as it is here, there is also some disappointment. On remastering process they used a limiter. The peak level variation on the original album is much bigger

Not to understand me wrong, there is no clipping and it sounds good, but the peak level plot just looks unnatural

So Phil Spector ruined the music, the restaurators could not resist to follow the fashionable tendencies to ruin dynamics.

i think you mean a compressor and not a limiter
compression is a nice thing for cheap audio system to make it sound fat and wide and everything. for those who have expensive audio systems more dynamics would be better as it simply sound more natural. compression is not always a bad thing but cds that are mastered these days are often overcompressed.

No. I meant a limiter. All the peaks have the same level. On the original CD there are very few and very very occasional peaks higher than -1 dB.
