anybody heard of minidsp?

seems like a cool find, they have everything from a hi-fi streamers to a VR mic to 'acoustic cameras' (for acoustic holography?) and an amazon echo-like MEMS mic array

I have an UMIK-1 for calibrating room correction. Haven't compared it to anything above "cellphone app" level, but how much cheaper than 79 would a microphone with individual calibration curve be in any case?

The "out the door" price will add $30 for shipping and handling. I bought a UMIK-1 from miniDSP last night for $109.

I think the 2x4 HD, (formerly just called miniDSP), is a super cool concept, even if just for the 2-way crossover. But I've read, on various audio sites, that it can degrade the audio quality. Even if only subtlety. It makes me wary of trying one.

EDIT: just figured you're discussing about minidsp mics (UMIK) @lithoformer ... please update the 3ad title.
