Columns UI - layout pre-filter

Hello

Using Columns UI, is there a way to apply a preliminary filter (i.e. not shown in the UI) by layout? So if I want different layouts for different genres, rather than having a genre filter column included in every layout that is an overhead in clicks and screen space, being able to specify this in preferences.

Use the layout tab in preferences to hide the panel. Not tested but should work.

Thanks for the suggestion - I didn't think of that, but it doesn't really work. The hidden filter column can't be set and retained by layout. Having an auto-hiding column is a compromise. I guess not many people switch between multiple layouts.
