Dropouts and no gapless playback when using foo_upnp and foo_out_upnp

I am running foobar2000 V1.4 on a Windows 10 PC. I have also installed the foo_upnp and foo_out_upnp components in the expectation of being able to generate a UPnP music stream with gapless playback capability. These components are at versions 0.99.49 and 1.0 respectively.

Unfortunately, when I try using BubbleUPnP with the foobar2000 renderer to play a couple of tracks which require gapless playback , I get occasional audio dropouts and a very audible click between the tracks. Where might I be going wrong?
