Probably intends to replicate a major movie theater sound system in a residence

I've been wondering what type of setup Hoyts have in terms of sound. I watched rogue one the other day at Hoyts and I thought they must have some significant power in the set up. does anyone have any ideas what brand they use?

Getting on an international forum and expecting that anybody cares for a second about the equipment list of a mom-and pop theater in the outback of Australia is, shall we say, fanciful.  You are obviously tens of thousands of miles closer to it than most of us are, so why aren't you doing your own leg work?

Besides, even if any of us knew or even cared, duplicating it in your house would be dumber than dumb unless perchance your listening room was identical to the one in the theater. To work well, audio and video systems have to be tailored to the room that they are in, not one down the street.

Considering OP's username is a seller of home theater equipment I have suspicions about the intended direction of this thread.
Creature of habit.

I actually had no idea when I renamed their topic. Maybe it should be recycled instead.

Let's see if he comes back. I don't see any harm in being a Nakamichi fanboy. They made nice tape decks.

The topic title was originally just "Hoyts" by the way. Because it leaves many of us in the dark as to exactly what that is, it got changed. Not in keeping with the spirit of TOS #6, besides the fact that it was dumped in the General Audio forum instead of Hardware.

Well, it's kind of an interesting question that I never considered. A quick Google on "commercial cinema audio" yields the major players in the market. Klipsch, for instance, seems to be invested in subwoofers. Not a Nak in sight.

An actual survey of leading local theaters shows a ton of JBL Pro.
