Artists not showing up on "All Music"

I recently switched from Windows 10 to Linux Mint (Cinnamon).  Yesterday I decided to try foobar as a potential media player (was having issues with some of the others I tried on Wine/didn't want to deal with the lack of gapless playback on Linux players).  I added my music collection and while it was added in the library, none of the artists or albums show up on the "All Music" view.  The only artist on there is Pink Floyd - I re-ripped Dark Side of the Moon on Banshee then moved the files to foobar.  I don't know if this has anything to do with how I imported my files into the player.

This probably is a quick fix and I apologize if it's right in front of my face, but I'm not sure what's going on here, if anything.  It seems important that I get all artists/albums on "All Music", especially if I want to customize it.  I'm new to foobar so I'm more or less going by the seat of my pants here.

Thanks for any help.  Hopefully this is one of those issues I feel ridiculous about not figuring out.

I haven't run Foobar2000 on Linux, so I too might be missing something obvious, but anyway ...

I'd first check Library > Configure. Under Music Folders there should be the path(s) to your music. If not, then click "Add..." to add them. The status for each path should eventually show "Monitoring." If it remains "Pending" for a long while, then Foobar2000 is having trouble accessing the folders -- for example, if your music is on a NAS, them perhaps there is a networking issue.

Also on the same prefs panel, check the dropdown lists under File Types. "Restrict to" is normally "*" (to indicate "all"), unless you have a good reason to restrict the file types. And look at "Exclude" to see if the values are sane. For example, if that field has "*", all file types will be excluded.

Also, make sure the checkboxes at the bottom, "Enabled" and "Activate when changed," are enabled.

Those are the most obvious issues I can think of off the top of my head.

That's so plausible, I can't believe it.

Are the files accessible based on your current user and file permissions? Is the top level directory a dotfile and therefore hidden?

I figured it out.  Turns out it was something simple - just a matter of going to the preferences and choosing which folders to monitor.
