Audio Format Converter Configuration

Hi,

I'm trying to add ALAC conversion support via dBpoweramp to foobar. I have created a custom conversion profile in foobar. You can see the settings in the attached screenshot. When I try to convert a file I get the following error in the foobar output window:

Quote
1 out of 1 tracks converted with major problems.

Source: "D:\Music\ACDC - Back In Black Remastered\04-acdc-given_the_dog_a_bone.flac"
An error occurred while writing to file (Invalid command-line parameters) : "C:\Users\Jackson\Desktop\04 Given The Dog A Bone.m4a"
  Conversion failed: Invalid command-line parameters

However, if I substitute the values foobar is displaying in the output into the parameters string as follows, the conversion is successful:

Quote
coreconverter.exe -infile="D:\Music\ACDC - Back In Black Remastered\04-acdc-given_the_dog_a_bone.flac" -outfile="C:\Users\Jackson\Desktop\04 Given The Dog A Bone.m4a" -convert_to="Apple Lossless"

Is anybody familiar with adding custom encoders, and thus why I might be getting this error?

Thanks for your help.

AFAIK, non-staff cannot attach files to posts in any subforum except the two for Uploads, although the software might not actually warn them about this, hence why you assumed it would work. Use fb2k\Uploads or somewhere like imgur.

Thank you for the info. I have done as you suggested.

AFAIK, foobar2000 automatically includes double quotes around filenames, to account for the possibility of spaces and suchlike that could confuse the receiving encoder. Your including additional pairs of quotes around the placeholders for the source and destination filenames is probably causing the error here. Try removing them.

Good to hear, and you’re welcome (“AFAIK”, since I apparently have to include that in all of my posts in this thread )
