ReplayGain Tags in lossless to lossless conversion

I'm currently converting my FLAC tracks into APE using Foobar2000. I noticed all the tags are correctly copied except the ReplayGain ones.

I know when converting to lossy files there is volume changes, forcing you to rescan the files. But since it's a lossless to lossless conversion, there's no volume change at all, thus making plausible copying the ReplayGain tags instead of losing time rescanning the files to get the same results. Why Foobar2000 doesn't do this by default?

Four days later and still no one... Guess Foobar2000 can't really do this.

Well, this is now a feature request them.

According to a previous thread asking the same thing that I found on a search, there is no way to automatically copy RG values:
The converter does not copy Replaygain information from the input files to the output files
I think it should do so when converting lossless -> lossless without any other options (Replaygain Processing, DSPs) checked. The time-consuming re-scanning is a real hassle when one wants to convert his archive to another lossless codec.

Is there any chance of this to be implemented? Or is there a way to copy Replaygain values between files?

I agree that it would make sense to provide automatic copying of RG info in the case of lossless-to-lossless conversion.

However, do note that foobar2000’s particular implementation of RG changed in v1.1.6 (early 2011), so if your files were scanned before then, values are likely to differ (at least slightly), which might be a good excuse to re-scan.

If RG values were exposed as normal tag fields, (A) they would/could easily be copied automatically by the Converter anyway, and (B) you would be able to copy the values manually from the Properties window and paste into your new files. However, RG info is treated separately, possibly for reasons related to its exclusion from the Converter.

Perhaps an equivalent copy of the fields (i.e. without having to re-scan) can be achieved with some other tagging utility, but I don’t know. I’m sure someone else has had similar experiences and might be able to provide a method.

I know Foobar2000 changed RG recently, but it's still a hassle to use a 3rd party tagger just to copy RG values from newly scanned albums. I'm using MP3Tag to do so, but it would be neat if implemented as default in Foobar2000.

Even if RG tags are "special", there couldn't be some check system after conversion to determine if it was a lossless to lossless conversion without DSP effects?
