[TOS #6] New to Foobar: some issues

These are probably noob questions, but I'm having trouble with a few things. Wondering if I could get some help.

1: I'm having difficulty making a "recently added" autoplaylist so that it displays tracks that have been added in the last week. I can do it for 2 weeks, but I don't know how to make it display for anything less that. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've got foo_navigator.

2: I've got Columns UI. I want to add a "Ratings" column but in Columns UI, Playlist View I can't add the string because you can't add patterns. How do I get star ratings to display with Columns UI? I've got foo_quicktag, foo_playcount.

3: I've added a column call "Added" which shows the date the song was added, but what I'd like to do is be able to display them in a chronological order by pressing the heading, like how when I press the "Album" heading it shows all albums in alphabetical order.

4: I've used foo_fileops to copy my music to my mp3 player. It seems it can't overwrite files. I've added the SendtoDevice component but it crashed when I used it. I'm going to try again and see if it will work. Does SendtoDevice overwrite files? Is there a similar component out there?

thanks.

1. Main menu Library, Search:

Code: [Select]
%added% DURING LAST 1 WEEK SORT ASCENDING BY %added%

Then press the [...] button to create an autoplaylist from that search. Further help:foo_navigator adds a history function for played files. It has nothing to do with what you are looking for.

2. Main menu File, Preferences, Display, Columns UI, Playlist view -> tab "Columns":

Create a column, choose the tab "Scripts", paste the following code:

Code: [Select]
[$repeat(★,%rating%)]

If your ratings are saved in your files replace %rating% with $meta(rating)

3. Main menu File, Preferences, Display, Columns UI, Playlist view -> tab "General": tick "Enable sorting using column titles"
This is HA. Not the Jerry Springer Show.

Thanks for the help. Still have some problems, though.

I've tried both of these and neither display properly. I checked my files and some have ratings saved in them.

I had this ticked already. I've tried unclicking/clicking other options to see if they conflicted but it seems not.

2. I'm using this code. symbol_rating is a global variable. I didn't have any problem with
it. Can you describe how yours displays improperly?

Code: [Select]
$repeat($get_global(symbol_rating),%rating%)
$get_global(special_color2)
$repeat($get_global(symbol_rating),$sub(5,%rating%))

3. Sorting doesn't seem to work in autoplaylist. You can try in a normal playlist.

It just doesn't display anything.
