One day with the beta
Starting over with the new Default UI:
It doesnt seem to like my album art. I tries playing with the "Album art stub image path" setting under Advanced options but I think it is looking for specific filenames for Front, Back, Disc, etc. Is there detailed information available yet for working with albumart?
Also, the playlist doesnt seem to follow what's playing. I dunno what that's about but hey it's a beta I'm sure things will change.
This is sort of a joke but for a n00b like me its cool to have a quick and easy not-so-sucky-looking config by default
Here's mine (it's "slim and tall" because it's always at the side of my widescreen monitor ):
I'm using Hmmxp theme.
I have only added Facets and resized elements:
Really enjoying the new beta.
Is there a way to hide the column titles?
What I've ended up with so far:
I feel this thread may get a little repetitive but here we go:
[a href="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/ashfury/foobar2000_now.png" target="_blank"]
BTW, why does everyone like a dark background?
Thread needs more compact layouts with a dark theme which actually match windows style:
I'm in love with 0.9.5.
Here is mine:
Nothing special, but I like it.
Here is mine, plain and simple, with usability in mind:
click for full size:
Moderation: Please use thumbnails or links for pictures larger than roughly 800x600 and 80KB.
I haven't messed around with the colour scheme yet, but I'm pretty happy with the layout at the moment...the Facets uses directory structure.
pretty much one of the defaults
my main config again, now with tango'd icons. the random icon is home-cooked and based on the mail-send-receive icon (recoloured and resized).
More info on why and how can be found here (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=59138).
Here's mine, pretty basic, but I like it. The only thing I'd like is a lyric panel as a tab with the selection properties, then it'd be perfect.
I love the direction taken with 9.5!
This is my current layout. I'm very happy with it
I am finally able to switch to foobar for all my audio needs!
Here is my config:
My current foobar2000 beta 6 setup using the facet plugin. Which is a nice and simple setup with everything i just need.
I was playing with the new 0.9.5 betas for a while and now it looks like this:
>foobar shot< (http://w3.szivarvanynet.hu/alvaro84/hwsw/foobar.png)
I'm quite a purist so my goal was creating a GUI that pleases my eyes and good to use (for me) - without using any additional components except facets I just found too useful. Everything else you can see here is the new defaul UI. I have ColumnsUI installed, but I'll probably remove it from my foobar soon - I like my new interface better
And here's my Albumart-not-found image:
The other thing you may (not) see that something inside me is still living in the Cubic Player era
I'm quite new to foobar, and didn't like the complex config needed for other UIs, so I've remained at the default. Here's what I came up after all.
Browsing and searching is the most important for me, so album list is set to folder structure. The cool thing I'd stumbled upon is the fact that you can attach toolbars for each panel section, which means that buttons, seekbar are not bound to the top section anymore, they can be virtually anywhere. I only wish the menu section would be a toggleable toolbar element too.
I tried to copy my iTunes which I used a long time...
Than i discovered that i can expand the possibilitys of iTunes...
but still some features missing for me:
- Show the Covers in the "Playlist View" for the albums!!!
- A Button to switch from this album gouped view to normal list view in the playlist view
- Stick Cover and Information to the playing song (than i could really use the tabs on the left (Playing/Selection)
- Overlay on the Cover (nice effect) and maybe a mirror option for the cover
- playing Information skinable like panels_ui
- searchbar of facets adjustable
Changed to a fullscreen layout, which is more useful I think:
my foobar UI, i like having the console up 24x7 as there are some dodgy mp3's im trying to weed out
Moderation: Please do not inline images larger than roughly 800x600 and 80KB. Please use thumbnails and/or links for large pictures instead.
I am very happy with the Default UI of 0.9.5 & Facets, it's so easy to put something together and use.
with docakble lyrics open:
I have removed several screenshots with faked lyrics or coverflow elements.
This is not helping and only confuses users.
Changed my layout last night. It's not the most efficient, but it works for me. I made a combined codec/bitrate column, which I much prefer to 2 separate ones. I've thrown the album art viewer in the bottom right corner because it's not interacted with and just got in the way in the top left corner.
Note facist... I mean facet in the top left corner - its just for search with "send to current playlist on sellection" option. It works like iTunes search which is great.
Changed the colors, Facets, Statusbar, Playlist and some other things...
[a href="http://imagemonk.com/viewer.php?file=56e2fg2mbthnersy2rtn.jpg" target="_blank"]
Many information for me.
I just made some changes on my status bar and changed to the system default colour settings. I re-arranged my replaygain info around and clean some code on my status bar.
Status bar syntax code:
$caps2(%codec%[' / '%codec_profile%])' '%bitrate% kbps' '%samplerate% Hz' '$caps2($if2($info(mp3_stereo_mode),%channels%))' | '%playback_time%[ / %length%]$tab()[' 'Album' 'Gain: %__replaygain_album_gain%' '][' 'Track' 'Gain: %__replaygain_track_gain%' ']' | '$div(%_filesize%,1048576).$num($muldiv($mod(%_filesize%,1048576),100,1048576),2)' 'MB
I love the new default UI, can't wait for more components + SDK!
Here's some stuff I've been playing with:

Dockable Panels + Graphical browser (showing back covers on mouse-over)
as for mine...
[a href="http://www.gate00.net/Primula/share/Prim%60s%20foobar%20layout.JPG" target="_blank"]
Here is mine.
I tried to keep it simple yet able to display useful informations at the same time.
What do you think?
My current foobar:
nothing special so far.
Theme file is here schmoove_I.fth (http://www.keepmyfile.com/download/76fb312236907)
[a href="http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs127&d=08224&f=myfoobar2000933.png" target="_blank"]
Mine's pretty simple but I like it.
My current config:
I tried to keep it simple and clean.
my current foobar... made some small layout and statusbar changes, expandend the facets view and changed the colours to system default.
My new one
the previous one was too big, so i made small one, if there only was an option to get rid of status bar & menu, i don't need them and they are waste of space
here's my foobar2000 DUI-config:
(optimised for a 1440x900px display)
(http://www.familie-schmitte.de/foobar2000_0.9.5.4/th_foobar1.jpg) (http://www.familie-schmitte.de/foobar2000_0.9.5.4/foobar1.jpg) (http://www.familie-schmitte.de/foobar2000_0.9.5.4/th_foobar2.jpg) (http://www.familie-schmitte.de/foobar2000_0.9.5.4/foobar2.jpg)
PlugIns used in this config are:
- Default User Interface (foo_ui_std)
- Facets (foo_facets)
- Playlist Tools (foo_utils)
- Quick Tagger (foo_quicktag)
- Text Display UI Element (foo_textdisplay)
Furthermore, I use the beautiful "Silk Icon Set" by FamFamFam (http://famfamfam.com/) for all buttons in this config.
I really like the new interface, it's actually quite easy to configure (once you know how to do so...) and it looks so much better than my previous layout! I really don't miss any components from my old config, only thing that could be better is the Album Art Element... Oh well, I'll be patient...
There're some things I'm quite proud of, although they're probalbly very easy for the pros here...
- In my library I have quite a lot of Compilations (albums with songs by more than one artist), these are all tagged with %album artist% = "Various Artists". In order for these songs to be displayed properly, I've configured a new column in the paylist:
[$if($meta(album artist),%artist%) - ]%title%
This code returns the %artist%-tag if and only if the %album artist%-tag is present. It doesn't matter what is stored in these tags... This column is used instead of the standard "Title" column.
- For the rating, there's another custom column:
Should be quite obvious what this does...
- The Text Display Element is different for "Single Artist Albums" and "Various Artist Albums". This is done through some simple code:
%artist% - %title%$crlf()
Track %track% aus $if($meta(album artist),der Compilation,dem Album)$crlf()
- I have buttons for rating my songs! Behind these, there's the component "Quick Tagger". In it's configuration I have set the tag %rating% to be set to one value between 0 and 5. These macros are then applied to the buttons...
In case someone is interested in my config, here's my theme file (http://www.familie-schmitte.de/foobar2000_0.9.5.4/NinjaN_0.9.5.4.fth)
I have changed my colour theme to Dark Blue.
And I have also cleaned up my status bar formatting code, and made the bitrate info only display if a reported value is available.Status Bar
$caps2(%codec%[ / %codec_profile%]) [ %bitrate% kbps ] %samplerate% Hz $caps2($if2($info(mp3_stereo_mode),%channels%)) | %playback_time%[ / %length%]$tab()[ Album Gain: %__replaygain_album_gain% ][ Track Gain: %__replaygain_track_gain% ] | $div(%_filesize%,1048576).$num($muldiv($mod(%_filesize%,1048576),100,1048576),2) MB
Very efficient program indeed.

This is just a really simple configuration, I did it because I wanted a fresh layout to fit my laptop screen well
I havent messed much yet, but i love the layout editig stuff
Here is mine
The config file:
(http://xs433.xs.to/xs433/08452/5619.jpg.xs.jpg) (http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs433&d=08452&f=5619.jpg)(http://xs433.xs.to/xs433/08452/2275.jpg.xs.jpg) (http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs433&d=08452&f=2275.jpg)(http://xs433.xs.to/xs433/08452/3604.jpg.xs.jpg) (http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs433&d=08452&f=3604.jpg)(http://xs433.xs.to/xs433/08452/4951.jpg.xs.jpg) (http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs433&d=08452&f=4951.jpg)
Been changing my layout nearly daily but I've finally settled on something I like.
I don't use the DUI on my home PC as it won't support my cover art naming scheme and there is no plugin to view time-stamped lyrics. However I was interested in the recent changes in the new beta so I did a portable installation for use on my flashdrive at work. I'm really pleased with the setup and would switch to the DUI instead of the plugin that shall-not-be-named if I could use my albumart and lyrics. Anyway here is my portable installation setup:
Fun with foo_textdisplay:
My foobar (http://www3.telus.net/roth_t/Crap/foobar.jpg)
Been using this one for quite some time now.
I recently moved my controls top the bottom for easier access (the window sits on the top right of my right monitor).
i just came back to foobar today after not using it for about a six months. a lot has changed since then!
i used to use panels, but now the default interface is quite flexible, and capable of making a very nice config!
i was actually at this concert
i just started rating my files. how do you like my sweet vertical rating??
Pure text: [old image]
I cannot stop editing: Playlist tabs on the left, tabs with Album art, text display and multiple facets (1 to 3 columns) on the right.
i've updated mine with lyrics and artist photos. foobar is so cool
My current layout:
As simple as it gets:
I like the simple stuff.
I recently got a 22" LCD monitor, which has been an awesome change from my hulking 19" CRT beast.
After using a same layout for a few months, I finally decided to make a new one.
long time foobar user but i've always used columns ui. this is my first default ui setup.
I've never seen windowed setup here, despite its absolute cuteness:
Here is one with album list and some visualisations (playlist manager is currently closed). One genious thing about it is that foobar remembers positions of windows after they are closed, so if you close it and open again, it goes same place where it was before. I use it cause I don't like tabbed windows. And be cause I can see that nice 8-bit girl on the desktop ^^
My current setup--my "busy" theme. I have a basic one that I use at work.
I actually prefer the default theme to ColumnsUI because I change mine ALOT and I still haven't gotten the hang of the layout tree. Here's the one (http://usera.imagecave.com/evilroy/fooScreen.jpg) I'm using this week:
I love DUI. It is better than anything else :3
My current DUI layout:
[a href="http://www.imageviper.com/dip/143958/Current_Foobar_Config2.jpg" target="_blank"](http://www.imageviper.com/displayimage/143958/1/Current_Foobar_Config2.jpg) (http://www.imageviper.com/dip/143957/Current_Foobar_Config.jpg)
My current DUI config:
[a href="http://250kb.com/u/090926/p/ab6a80a9.png" target="_blank"]
There are still some things I miss with the Default UI: One cannot setup codec-specific colors or some icons/symbols, etc., that display missing information like: Tags, Replay Gain Info, etc.
My current Default UI config:
Edit: You could see my email address in the task bar I edited it out.
Moderation: replaced image with thumbnail+link
Here's my first theme ever. I needed a low-RAM, minimal-looking UI to keep in background while gaming/surfing. This one racked up at ~11/12 megs.
Hmm... I seem to be unable to edit my previous post. In any case: I got some more ideas from you guys and changed my layout. In my opinion it looks way better. This is the new version:
WSH panel mod comes to DUI!
inspired by falstaff to go and find myself a black windows theme.
Clean and Simple. :)
Started working on another layout tonight. Going for a smaller size this time. Here's the first draft:
PS: could a mod please delete my post from Jan 4 2010, 21:24 since it's obsolete and I removed the picture from flickr?[/u]
click here to download (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=78023)
I was going to make a bigger config, however I saw this (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=63984&view=findpost&p=683154) in the CUI thread and decided to make this instead:
some old skool windows xp.
Here is mine.
Lyrics and pictures are for punks.
panel idea shamelessly stolen from ojdo (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showuser=31980)'s HTPC panels II (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=77413&view=findpost&p=688718)
i've just added EsPlaylist to my layout as well. it's coming along nicely now.
i'm really liking EsPlaylist now it can be used as a proper library browser
Inspired in part by marc2003's use of esplaylist above
Horray for simple layouts that just do the job. Here's mine:
The lyrics component is the lyric show panel (foo_uie_lyrics.dll) from Columns UI, I've just used dockable panels (foo_dockable_panels.dll) component to get it to work with the dui.
I like it pretty simple as well.
Been enjoying this one for a while, with ESPlaylist, text display, and lots of tabs!
wanted something simple, so I made a mini playlist player---locked the splitters so this
theme always loads at the same small size...
Made a new setup from scratch, my first time doing it. I mainly wanted bigger album art plus I added Facets which I really like.
I really like the new version of Facets:
Here's my latest foobar:
Been using foobar2000 for a few years now, amazing player!
EsPlaylist and Waveform seekbar make the DUI so much better for me.
My latest layout.
changing foobar2000 DUI colors supported, so it could looks like this too:
my theme...all information visible (no tabs)
thanks to marc2003 and falstaff for their great scripts (some slightly altered for my own needs)

19" screen. All ES playlist view.
Original screenshot was of just the window client area... here is the full window screenshot.
Really nonsexy layout, installed yesterday after trying a ton of different programs..Foobar is still the shit...but i suck at theming
esl playlist, layered.
Don't suppose anyone has an idea why my foobar has started looking like this:
