I have been backing up my Mosaic Collectors sets for a few weeks now, so I can play the copies and not risk damage to my expensive and mostly OOP originals.
Things have been going well until today. I have the Stanley Turrentine Blue Note Stanley Turrentine Quintet/Sextet Studio Sessions set. I put the first disc in and got a badly titled response from freedb. I corrected the information and ripped the CD. The EAC response was perfect CRC matches, the log, however, on 7 of 8 tracks said : track not fully ripped for AccurateRip lookup. The 8th track was fine.
The second disc came up with a totally wrong name, the name of the original album and year included in this remastered compilation. Same deal 7 of 8 tracks with the same messge, 1 track fine.
It went this way through all the discs in this set.
What does this message mean? How can EAC rip tracks and have them not fully ripped for AccurateRip lookup when they all have Matching CRC, were all ripped with Test and Copy, properly gapped and tested for silence.
I'm at a loss. The FLAC's play perfectly. Is there something here I'm not seeing?
Any response would be helpful
Thanks in advance
Please post a rip log so that we don't have guess as to what might be wrong.
properly gapped
I suspect your problem lies here.
tested for silence.
It is quite easy to misinterpret the results from testing gaps on silence. I would not waste my time with this "feature".
You can read more about gaps and testing on silence here:

I have now ripped over 100 Mosaic discs with EAC 1.0.1 and AR. All the same machine and hdd. All with the same gaps setting in EAC. They all reported accurately ripped. I'm sure my gaps are fine.
I'm sure my gaps are fine.
I'm not.
A log file would have been much more helpful than defensiveness.
Here is a log ripped on the same machine, same hdd same settings I made to play in my car:

Gap handling : Left out
Here's your problem.
Thank you. I made no changes to my EAC settings, I have NO idea how gap handling got left out.
I will look load my saved profile and try it again.
Fiamma
You're welcome.
I know lots of people like to tout "best practices" ripping procedures, but better practice is to always verify what is being done with gaps if you detect them prior to ripping. This is time far better spend than testing them on silence which does absolutely nothing but provide an incomplete picture about the nature of the audio data marked by 00 indices (low-level noise can be reported as 0%). In all honesty, it is rare for anyone to need to detect gaps at all, and as such I am perplexed as to why they are doing it. All to often people are just blindly following online guides written by those who clearly have no clue. So many unnecessary steps can get in the way of what is actually needed to get an error free rip, which is surprisingly little.
BTW, that's a really slow rip time. Have you tried burst mode? It will save your drive from ripping 5x more data than was necessary based the inefficient secure settings you have configured and completely unnecessary use of test and copy. I don't know much about your drive, but if EAC says it doesn't cache data and can provide C2 pointers, I would configure it that way. Hopefully the drive doesn't cache more than 64KB of data, at least. That it can be safely used without cache flushing (and EAC will detect it as such; that is to say it will report drives that cache no more than ~64KB as non-caching).
You probably haven’t lost anything essential with those unripped gaps (they’re short and quite likely just silence), but as AccurateRip implies, you’re technically altering the ToC of the CD and losing a small amount of data in the process. Hope this isn’t terribly unwelcome news!
Removal of silence between tracks can (and usually does) alter the flow of an album; and not for the better.
