But! I've made a complete package (which too big for this forums, so I've upped it to several sites)

Latest version looks like:




These are not necessarily required, but useful to take full advantage of some crap:

- All albums are auto-track-numbered, so that they have TOTALTRACKS (this is used to calculate some gradient type things)
- foo_playcounter (UNOFFICIAL ONE!)

And these plugins are generally nice to have:

- foo_uie_browser
- foo_uie_trackinfo
- foo_uie_albumart_msn

At time of posting , xx0r.light-1.4-dynamic.fcs is the latest one with changeable hues.

Change the hues in the "GLOBALS" section ;D

On older versions (anything other than newest, actually), you have to have "all" in your playlist name.

This is easy to edit out with the filters in the columns config :]

Fonts used are HaxrCorp and standard 07_57 caps 6pt

Older versions use anything from calibri to segoe UI

A mod of area04 combined with some things from RulerAGV. Releasing it would get me raped in many ways.

I'm tempted to attach it here, but I don't believe in going behind the backs of authors.

first of all props on the excellent music choice (explosions in the sky, pelican, fbtmof and enter shikari)

ive got a new enter shikari demo kicking about on my pc if you're interested!

im completely new to customizing foobar, never bothered before.  is it possible for you to zip up EVERYTHING i need to get my foobar looking like your pics?  looks great by the way

is there a fbc somewhere for those buttons you're using?

edit: was also wondering if you have support for albums with various artists in your config?

Im not quite sure what you mean, can you explain a little more. Sorry. Oh and the fcs im trying to use is the Fb2k import one. Thanks

EDIT: Nvm i figured it out, but got another question, is there anyway to make the text show up when i have a track selected? because the title gets totally blacked out and idk what to do, ive messed with the custom colors and globals. im using the xx0r Light one.thanks

Good idea, I'll do a decent update thingy with my new latest FCS as its fully dynamic and controllable from globals now.

it has these funky different modes.

Would you mind posting a screenshot of your "layout" tree as well as your trackinfo?

Btw, I'm very lost on how to change button images. I've done a search here and can't seem to find anything. I have the .png files downloaded, but how do I change them? Right-clicking and going to customise just gives me empty buttons...

Much help is appreciated!

Slight issue is that my win install is kinda dead atm, and I'm using linux now.

I am haivng problems finding the top track info, track info progress, and playlist drop down input areas. Is it in another plugin? I know where to put to input for single coloums ui.

I feel really stupid, I lost foobar due to a hard drive crash and now I'm looking to beautify foobar again.

Right click anywhere on the playlist, and clicking "Settings..." will open up the dialog for that.

I have my own fair share of problems, though.

The part enclosed within the box appears to be frozen, or something. It's always like that, and it'll essentially "ghost" anything that travels over it, almost like it's frozen. It happens at the bottom of every single playlist I have, but I can't figure out why it's there. If I right-click it, foobar stops responding completely. It's rather annoying.

Also, I may have just grossly overlooked something, but I can't seem to find the menu button.

Are you sure that top panel is a trackinfo_mod rather than a trackinfo?

How have you done your album art.

Iirc that old code is pretty buggy but meh, it worked for a lot of others so I don't see where the problem is.

looks like you have the original track info panel when you need to use the latest trackinfo_mod panel

You also need to edit the Simageabs2 portion of the code to read your album art.....if its named cover and folder and the file extension needs to be considered. for exemple...

I'm using a highly modified version (I called EerieCream  ) of tool++s columnsUI config, which is a work-in-progress, and may even use certain codes of navigator suite and others (I simply have forgotten where I've taken them from).

as a test take one album.....open its properties and copy the text field in album and rename the corresponding picture file and paste the copied value in tthe new filename

Then look at the album in the playlist view...I can only thing that either your tags or maybe your pictures filenames arent matching.

(make sure you are using the %album% tag in the imageabs2 code)

I'm completely new to foobar. By completely new, I mean that I've only used WMP and Winamp in the past, with no skinning/scripting experience, and only downloaded foobar yesterday. If I can figure out how to go through your instructions, I'm sure others will figure it out soon enough.

Thanks a lot, toolej. You really help newcomers learn to customize their foobar. All I've done is use your setup, with glossy overlays. I will update future modifications once I start going through some tutorials.

It's because the %album%/%artist%/etc variables are encased in apostrophes, so they don't get read as tags, but read literally as %album%/%artist%/etc...

In short, remove the apostrophes (single quotes), they aren't needed, and cause the variables/tags NOT to get evaluated.

Hello, Im quite new to these things, and it would be great if someone cold help me out.

I can't get the album art to show up for the life of me. It's driving me insane. I have folder.jpg placed in the correct path. It would VERY rarely show album art. But 97% of the time it just show the noalbumart image. Any ideas?

Also, How do I get it setup so it shows multiple album art panels down the playlist. Because I only get 1 album art of whatever is current playing and that is at the top.

Awesome, thanks for the help, got that working. One last question: how can I go about moving different artists around? It's kinda hard to explain so I drew another picture explaining my predicament.

You can select items and hold Alt key to drag them within single column playlist, but it won't solve you sorting problem.
I have posted my sort string here (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=47810&view=findpost&p=458770). You might want to try it out to see if it fixes your problem.

Just got that rar and starting with a fresh install of 0.9.4.2, but I can't seem to get it to work at all. I set up the layout just like the png in the rar, but it doesn't look even vaguely like the finished product. I can hardly figure out which track info mod panel is supposed to do what. Any tips?

great work - sometimesi get this  how do they do this feeling when i see the work of some people - yours belong to this!

i have one request:
higher resolution-pngs from toolej_xx0r_columns - especially
diagbg.png to fit an horizontal area - so it should be 600x300

artoverlay.png albumborder.png noalbum.png shadow.png for thumbnails 140x140 - maybe you can make 200x200 or 300x300 for people who already want more 

and maybe some other colours - i am using $rgb(60,80,100) as background colour for example.

Okay first I'd like to point out that in some of my setups people have just added trackinfos which are supposed to be spacers and got confused what to do with them. With those ones (that I haven't explained) just set their background to the same colours as your 3d item background, remove the line, and delete the textual contents.

Someone had some insane height. That was because you have captions for everything.

Refer to the stuff I said above. Set unexplained trackinfos up as spacers.

Also, this advice now applies:

AlWAYS USE TRACKINFO MODS INSTEAD OF TRACKINFOS, THEY ARE FAR MORE MEMORY EFFICIENT So if I've used a trackinfo as a spacer, use a trackinfo_mod panel (setting it up same way) and save on cpu.

i am trying to edit the colors on the playlist view by changing the hex code in the variables
