Title: introducing foo_amr
Post by: angelo on 2003-09-12 20:30:14
recently friend of mine asked me to do some amr to wave convertion util, so i decided to play around with foobar-sdk and here it is...

little contribution to huge variety of supported formats already. its not perfect.
it lacks seeking and maybe features some bugs :)

for those who dont know, amr is an adaptive multirate codec, used in voice transmission and in mobile phones (when recording ie:)

if anyone find it usefull... youre welcome :)

damn. sombody found it usefull after all. i'm glad :]
there was some trouble with the domain, now my can be found page under following address (http://angelo.scene.pl).

ah. and now the page is all in polish, so here's direct link (http://angelo.scene.pl/download,foo_amr_1-0-0.exe) for download. sorry for inconvinience :]

one more thing. due to lack of any feedback i've droped any further development. this also means that it's same version i've compiled against 0.7 sdk. if it won't run with 0.8 foobar (i really dont know as due to lack of any support from either developers or any other smart heads i've stoped doing plugins:) - drop me an email and i'll recompile them for you. there are also full sources to this plugin here (http://angelo.scene.pl/download,foo_amr_1-0-0.7z) so you can recompile them yourself :]

What kind of support did you request and not receive?

about archives unpack interfaces. there were no examples nor documentation at that time, and inhere i've faced a wall of silence :]

i wanted to make xpk archive reader, especialy for tracked modules playback. many amiga users used xpk to store their music, and there was no win32 support for it. i had to make command line tool for unpacking xpk, but thought back then that it would be great thing to play modules directly from xpk files under foobar :]

How to get information about the SDK:

1. go to the IRC channel (#foobar2000 on freenode.org), or

2. post in the development forum.

This way, you'll get more attention to your SDK questions than posting them in some arbitrary thread with a totally different title. I guess you'll have to ask Peter himself to get information about how to implement your own archive service.

thanks mon. but, i doesnt (can't) use irc. and dev-forum i've tried (in this topic (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=13324)) serveral months ago. this time i was just... hm. kind of complaining, without a real hope for an answer. just to show how misreble is a fate of a plugin developer ;> hehe

anyway. i thought peter doesnt like to be disturbed - i haven't found his email address anywhere - and it seems noone else can help me :]

Well, a couple of years later: http://angelo.scene.pl/lang/pl/projekty/ (http://angelo.scene.pl/lang/pl/projekty/)

Well, actually it'd be: http://angelo.scene.pl/projekty/ (http://angelo.scene.pl/projekty/) - this will take you to english or polish version based on your settings. One that you gave had fixed polish prefix

Also, in case anyone's really interested and willing to contribute, since I have less and less time recently, I've set up a git project for foo_amr just few days ago. It's located under: http://github.com/unjello/foo_input_amr (http://github.com/unjello/foo_input_amr). There is source code browser, issues tracker and wiki there.

I will keep posting binaries on my web page tho for every new release of the plugin.

Is there any place where I can find compiled .dll file? I am not programmer and I know nothing about compiling sources and I don't own any application like Visual Studio... Maybe someone could upload .dll to speedyshare/rapidshare/zippyshare?

Is the link from here (https://github.com/unjello/foo_input_amr/wiki) no good?
Binary installs foo_input_amr.dll to components directory.
http://angelo.scene.pl/download,foo_amr_1_1_1.exe (http://angelo.scene.pl/download,foo_amr_1_1_1.exe)

This is to report that 3 years later the link for foo_amr v1.1.1 still works. The package installs and runs fine with Foobar v1.3.9 . Thanks O.P.  :D

https://github.com/unjello/foo_input_amr/releases   https://github.com/unjello/foo_input_amr/releases/download/v1.1.3/foo_input_amr-1-1-3.exe
By the way you can use foo_input_ffmpeg (https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_input_ffmpeg) to play amr files
