If you turn off the PC into hibernation while playing online radio, then when you wake up, a “network error” error appears. In release this caused playback to stop. In the last preview, playback restarts, but there is still an error and the time countdown starts from zero.
What if you set your network adapter to never sleep in Windows Device Manager.
Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power" under the Power Managment tab.
This doesn't work. The problem started during the global update foobar to version 2.
I have the same issue with version 2.1.2 on Windows 11.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Play an online radio
2. Close the lid of your laptop to go into standby
3. Wait a few minutes
4. Open the lid to resume
I expect Foobar2000 to continue playing the radio but it fails with an error:

Any chance this can be fixed?
Thank you!

In foobar2000 v2.2 preview 2024-02-19 this problem is partially has been fixed. But there is still an error.
@mihelson what do you mean by partially?
orschiro
Playback continues, but there is still an error.
Nice!
I can confirm that playback resumes but indeed it's showing an error window.
How to create a bug report for a developer?
Maybe it's already fixed in foobar2000 v2.2 preview 2024-02-28?
@orschiro no, bug don't fixed.
@orschiro no, bug don't fixed.
Bummer! Maybe with version foobar2000 v2.2 preview 2024-03-04?
You are quite optimistic to think that any new preview build would change the behavior even when their changelogs don't mention anything related.
Peter is aware of the issue. Let's hope he has time and interest to add special handling for network disconnections caused by power state change.
Thank you Case and Peter!
@Case can you please keep us notified here once the issue has been potentially addressed and can be tested?
The latest foobar2000 v2.2 preview (https://www.foobar2000.org/download) should improve things.
Going to test now, thanks Case! :)
I am still getting the same error messages. How about you
@mihelson?
For me nothing seemed to have changed.
Can you point specific radio stations where this is still an issue? I tested the link from the screenshot and it appeared to behave OK now.
Thanks
Hmm, strange.
Can you try this one?

Thank you!
Changed behavior in today's build, will just resume playback quietly if disconnected, without trying to react to system sleep events.
Great, thanks Peter!
This new behaviour will presumably come with the next preview as well?
The issue has been fixed in preview 2.2 2024-04-13.
Thank you so much!
