1: Can we please have foobar2000 remembering the selected folder after the restart of the app? For example, if I have expanded (+) a folder in the tree, then a subfolder then another subfolder and press play, when I restart foobar I have to find the folder in the album list tree again, it's back to point 0. The album is still in the playlist but I'd like to keep the album list view as I leave it when I close foobar2000.
2: When I select to export an album art from a file/album, is it possible to point the first file explorer folder where the file/album actually is and not the Desktop?
Thanks.
Preferences > Playback > Other > Save playback state when closing foobar 2000 and resume on next startup
Jailhouse, that wasn't the point at all, anyway.
Peter, can we do at least the #2 for 1.4?
Can we also add AAC (FDK) ~128 in the default encoder list?
Thank you.
Both addressed for 1.4 beta 2.
Beautiful, thank you.
Not sure if #1 and #2 are related but this new feature fixed both, beautiful, thank you again.
@Peter, not sure you already noticed this, 1) the little x is not centered:

While I'm here:
2) Will all those "api-ms-win-" files stay in the folder in the final release?
3) Will FFmpeg be updated to its last release for the final? Not even sure why I am asking since I think you do all the necessary tests, I guess it's some OCD thing to always get the latest.
Thank you for all your work.
@Peter, just a reminder of the last post since Beta 3 is out. Thanks.
@Peter, all still valid for Beta 4.
2) Will all those "api-ms-win-" files stay in the folder in the final release?
They are Universal C Runtime files and are required now with the dynamic C runtime linking.
Note that the installer detects if you already have the required runtimes installed and won't extract the files that are not needed.
Windows 10 comes with Universal C Runtime so on that operating system only Visual C Runtime files vcruntime140.dll and msvcp140.dll are possibly installed.
If required Runtime is already installed system-wide no runtime files will be installed.
Portable version will of course get all runtimes at all times.
2) Nice, good to know. Thank you.
@Peter,
4) Is there a way to show the album art on top of the controls in the new taskbar view?
Thank you.
X centering - fixed for beta 5
FFmpeg, will update sometime before final.
Album art in taskbar - I actually had it implemented but it was bugged without an apparent solution. The aspect ratio of shown album art was wrong on first mouse-hover (stretched to window's aspect ratio instead of squared), and the album art was also shown in the alt+tab list instead of our window content, which was deemed annoying. I ended disabling the feature for now as it was taking more of my time than it was worth.
Perfect, thank you for explaining.
@Peter, don't know if you care enough at this point but the little x is still not centered, not even sure how hard really is to put it straight so, sorry for pushing.
Indeed it's still slightly off, though it's better now than it was before. I'll check again, thanks for pointing out.
@Peter, can you please add Stop as well on the task bar? Stop is better for Radios so they don't buffer and when you start again it's in real time. I have hotkeys set for Stop too of course but I think it's good to see the button there just to be more complete.
Thank you.
@Peter, before you release the stable version, let me add something else, the line is not centered either:

Thanks again.
@Peter, also the time won't fully display on the bottom right, see screenshot:

Thank you.
@Peter, the bottom right total time seems fixed on Beta 12 thank you. Not sure that line and the x are important enough but they're still not centered, also maybe you can make the x bigger? As big as the "?" and using the same font so it will be more clickable as well?
Thank you again.
Sorry missed a screenshot on the last post, here's what I mean. The line is too close to the top and the x too close to the bottom, better if they're centered.

All the text is aligned; to center the "x" it would need to be upper case. The cursor ("line") is where it should be in relation to the text.
I do think the text could be moved down a pixel.
The text could be moved down a pixel, but then letters with tails like "p" "q" and "y" would connect with or possibly overlap the bottom of the box.
My experience with textboxes in VBA tells me that is indeed possible. I would make the box a pixel taller or the text a pixel shorter so that the text doesn't look crammed into the top, but either option usually means changing many (too many) other things.
