Title: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)
Post by: James2418 on 2013-09-13 13:37:40
Hi. I have been using foobar for years with no issues at all, but now I get the following message when I try to start it:

foobar2000.exe - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.

I am using Windows 7 64, Professional Edition.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

i had a quick google and it might be a problem with a recent windows update. look under installed updates and try and uninstall kb2859537 and see if that works.

I think you may be right, since I'm getting the same error with other programs too. However, update kb2859537 isn't in my update history and I can't click on "Installed Updates". Is there another way to remove it?

try rolling back with system restore?

failing that you might be better off asking/searching around on the microsoft forums.
