Not related at all, fingerprint only has memory issues while using it to find matches against the library as the readme states, and that's why it uses an external tool to load the fingerprint tags. Otherwise its mem usage is zero.

There is nothing I can do about this. It' s a SMP thing. Or don't use country layers, just points, which uses less memory. And background with a single color. Every user should adjust scripts to find their best settings. I can add this info to the wiki and the txt readme opened when installed the script.

Sounds like foobar2000 is warning you that your tags contain invalid data like empty newline after the actual value.
Thanks that was a good suggestion. I looked at the meta-data using Audacity and it did show a space in the title. I used fb2k properties dialogue to edit the metadata. Even though I couldn't actually see the space I found that deleting the last visible character and reinserting it did the trick.

You choose weird threads to post your requests. While using an EQ as a volume control is a possibility, I'd say it's way overkill and certainly not the handiest tool for the job. If you really just want to adjust volume in 0.1 dB steps I'd claim Amplifier DSP is the easiest and most compact solution. And it has been available since 2017.

xnor's excellent component would be most welcome addition to 64-bit foobar2000, but not to be used as a volume knob but as a high quality equalizer. There are no sources published so no third party can make it happen.

Not complete sure if it is related to the new chromaprint but I have had random crashes in SMP panels with a message warning about an out of memory issue. The more frecuent is world map
Code: [Select]
Error: Spider Monkey Panel v1.6.1-mod ({8620B230-E075-42D1-9966-A4DD7893F3E7}: World-Map-SMP v3.10.0 by Regorxxx)
ApplyMask failed:
GdiPlus error: mask::LockBits failed with error (0x3): OutOfMemory

File: main.js
Line: 446, Column: 16
Stack trace:
but also the biography panel and sometimes foobar2000 itself (the crash log and dump are empty)
I have chroma print configure to read only for tags

I "believe" the original author of the Advanced Limiter was/is Kode54, who supplied this technical description of it that frankly goes over my head:,113491.msg934305.html#msg934305.

He also made a more concise post about it here:,77154.msg674643.html#msg674643.

I use a VST limiter/compressor that is user-adjustable and came with documentation I "grok" (latter attached FYI).

I'm not Peter but I can answer that the concept of "True Peak" is much newer than all these DSPs. There is zero code to deal with True Peaks other than the optional feature in ReplayGain scanner.

While adding support for such feature would of course be possible, I highly doubt there is any will to do so. foobar2000 isn't a mastering studio and the feature adds very little value for playback.

With latest changes, the situation is much better.
Still stop after foo ID, Chroma Print scan and need manual intervention to continue, but all scans finish without errors and write the tags except audio md5 that pop up a window to confirm (just like when it is launched from menu).

With what version of foobar2000 are you seeing this? And what output component do you use? If playlist looping isn't enabled I only hear playback stopping as it should.
Listening Tests / Re: Great killer sample, easy to ABX on most codecs
Last post by synclagz -
@shadowking, I tried the settings you suggested for WavPack, up to -b4.55x5s.5, and I still hear that hiss. Aggrrrhh! Since this sample sounds more like regular music than a proof of concept, I have a panic at the thought that other music could be compressed in such a low-quality way. So I suspend the use of the hybrid WavPack and hope that @bryant will be able to fix it.

Hi @Kraeved,

Look at my ABX tests in this thread. I've managed to ABX Wavpack up to -b576x4s0.5
If you want peace of mind with wavpack lossy, 450k range is not enough for this sample.

As @shadowking said, this sample raises suspicion on how it is recorded/mastered so it could be artificialy created.
No one knows... I would say that this sample is good to "calibrate" other lossy encoders and listen how they work on this sample but
it shouldn't be of any concern in real life music IMO.

If you want really strong setting (and peace of mind) for wavpack lossy for this sample you need something like -b550hx4s0.5.
Anything lower is ABX-able (at least for me). for faster encoding you could try -b576hhs0.8 but this high bitrate defeats purpose of economical encoding to save space.
It's up to you which way you want to go.
