Title: Apple AAC
Post by: botface on 2021-09-20 10:12:55
I installed itunes some time ago just so that I can use Apple's AAC in the Converter. I don't actually use itunes at all for anything. I am wondering if it's possible to locate and move the relevant components of itunes to somewhere like the fb2k encoders folder so that I can uninstall itunes but continue to muse Apple AAC in Converter

You can uninstall itunes but you'll need a copy of the installer and place it in the same location as this batch file which will extract the required bits for you.

@botface:  go ahead and uninstall iTunes first, then follow the steps posted here: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=85135.msg995674#msg995674 (https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=85135.msg995674#msg995674) .

Note that due to changes since that post, you'll need to get makeportable2.cmd at the link posted by snotlicker above, and the newest qaac 2.72 here: https://github.com/nu774/qaac/releases (https://github.com/nu774/qaac/releases) .
