Problem with tagging

While I thought I found the perfect music player, I've encountered a serious issue with tagging that hopefully someone here can help solve.
Going though MusicBrainz(my preferred application) and several other tagging plugins I've found that while all the correct artist/album info is found and displayed correctly, foobar tags each song title wrong and out of order. For example, I'll tag Daft Punk's Random Access Memories and while every appears right, when going to play "Get Lucky" I realize this track that's playing is actually "Give Life Back to Music," a different song on the album.
This is happening with every method/plugin I've tried. Has anyone else experience anything like this, or have any suggestions to try?
Any help is much appreciated. I've spent the last few days getting to know foobar2k and have been really enjoying it up until now.

How many albums are affected?
Where did those files come from?

Is there any discernible pattern to the mistagging?

It looks like every album I try tagging through foobar does this. I didn't notice it for the first few albums because I was unfamiliar with them, but now going back I realize it messed up every single one. These are all files(all mp3) either ripped from a cd or transferred off a friends hdd.

Ah, so I have figured something out. If I take an album and tag it correctly with the actual MusicBrainz program and then open it in foobar the album tracks already appear out of order in the playlist viewer(despite the track numbers being right). When I try tagging them here, they are simply re-titled in the random order they first appear instead of actually being moved into order--like they're just overwritten with the right order or songs. Even if I try to sort the album by track number beforehand, they are tagged wrong and end up in the original chaotic order for some reason.
Hopefully this is coming across clear, if need be I could try to post a pic.

Does the order an album's tracks are displayed in foobar mimic the order in which they are stored in their folder?

Nope. I can have everything tagged and ordered in the album folder, yet everything still shows up out of order in foobar.

So it seems like the problem is just that foobar refuses to move the tracks before it tags the album info...for the life of me I just can't figure out why.

So I think I just made some headway.
If I sort the album by track number (an already tagged album) and then right clicked the album in facets to tag it, the songs sort back into the same chaotic order every time as soon as I right click. However, if I instead highlight all of the songs in the playlist viewer and right click, the tagging works fine(it doesn't move the order around). Although while the album is tagged correctly, it still moves the tracks around to the same messed order AFTER they are tagged....it's like foobar keeps resetting the album to sort by some strange variable.

Try entering this:
Code: [Select]
%album artist% - %date% - %album% - %discnumber% - %tracknumber% - %title%

in the "Default sort order" box located at Preferences > Media Library > Facets > Library section
and in the "Sort incoming files by" box located at Preferences > Shell Integration.

The only other thing I can think of is you're trying to tag from an Autoplaylist that has a sort applied to it.
