One answer to copy protected CDs

"I purchased a "CD" that had insignia claiming it was
copy protected etc.  Now that I have successfully copied it, am I at
liberty to return it to the retailer and demand a refund?  It was sold
to me with copy protection, which seems to be completely non-functioning."
