Case's Tag - question/req APEv2 tagging

I've been going through my files converting ID3v1 tags to APEv2 using the --force switch. This removes the ID3v1 tag altogether. Is there a way to force an APEv2 tag and keep the ID3v1 tag?

For a lot of reasons I need the ID3v1 tag (and the ID3v2 in some cases). What I've been doing is prepping ID3 1 and 2, --forcing APE2, then going back and copying ID3v2 to ID3v1. Not really something I want to do.

Thanks.

--force id3 --force ape2
