Streaming FLAC files to an iPod Touch.

First of all, Hi, everyone. This is my first post on Hydrogenaudio.

I have a Linn Akurate DS which uses Twonky on my ReadyNAS to store about 100,000 flac files. I was given an iPod touch as an Xmas present & have downloaded Plugplayer to use as a control point on the iPod for the DS.

When setting Plugplayer up, I noticed that it was possible to stream from the NAS to the iPod as well as the DS. Great!...but of course the iPod does not support flac files.

Anyone know how to beat this?

Regards,

Chris

Probably not much help, but foobar2000 has a foo_upnp component, which are able to realtime transcode to supported formats of the destination of i.e. the iPod Touch.
Can't wait for a HD-AAC encoder :P

According to PlugPlayer's App Store page, the latest version (2.5.0) adds support for FLAC and Ogg Vorbis playback on the touch, so it "should" be able to do it...perhaps it's an issue between PlugPlayer and Twonky?
"Not sure what the question is, but the answer is probably no."
