Decoder mp3 filter in WMP11

Hi

I'm trying to use DCCrossrender.ax filter (http://www.dsp-worx.de/index.php?n=14) to crossfade mp3 files in WMP11 on XP MCE2005. It is a small filter that does crossfading no just on next track, but also when pausing or stopping.

The DCCrossrender.ax file is automatically used by ZoomPlayer and Graphedit. But WMP11 refuses to use the DCCrossrender.ax filter.

The problem seems to be the decoder used by default. ZP and Graphedit use <l3codecx.ax>, while WMP11 uses <l3codeca.acm>. I saw those values with the Filemon tool.

My question is: is there some way to force WMP11 to use <l3codecx.ax> and forget about .acm filters for mp3 decoding, just like the other Directshow players?

Thanks,

Toni

You do know that crossfading is built-in feature of WMP11, right?

Go to Now Playing tab drop down menu -> Enhancements -> Crossfading and Auto Volume Leveling. You can even set how long you want the overlap to be.

Hi

Yes, I know, but the built-in crossfadein WMP11 is far simple.

I want in WMP11 a crossdafing similar to the one found in Winamp (http://www.sqrsoft.com.ar/en/index.html), where even the pause and stop buttons do crossfade to silence. And http://www.dsp-worx.de/index.php?n=14 is the best I have found that claims to work with WMP.

Of course, is someone knws how to crosfade un WMP like in Winamp, please tell!
