how old was the version you used before? There hasn't really changed much to the actual library lately.

It seems the display vbr does not work properly
on my win2000 + winamp v.2.76 system.

It goes up 97 -> 127 -> 128 -> 130 -> 132 and than
it stays there, but it does not go down, it this normal?

mp3 vbr goes 96 -> 128 -> 196 -> 160 -> 96 -> 256

Thanks for this menno,

I really enjoy having the tagging support for AAC now through Winamp and the accurate track timings - the only problem is I will have to keep a copy of Ivan's plug-in to play some of the older files encode with the sub v.1 of the Psytel encoder. I ran through my PC today to dig up all my AAC files and check them in Winamp. Unfortunately in many cases the FAAD plug-in reports back 0.00 for the older files and won't play them whereas the old Ivan plug-in will play them happily and the latest files as well (although without the tagging support or correct time display) Will there be a resolution of this or should I just hold onto the older plug-in for now?

about that bitrate display, I think I have the same problem too. But it's not code that I've written, I can look into it of course. If I can't find the problem I'll contact RageAmp t fix it, it was his coding.

The incorrect display of the vbr is not a real problem for me,
but you fanatic coders always want perfection.

Sound it what matters and that is near perfect (near cd quality).

Bug, when you turn on "buffer entire files into memory", it
loads all song into memory, so 1 cd makes winamp
require around 128mb........but when you reselect a song which
was already loaded into memory it adds it into memory
again??

Resulting into the fact that every song played gets added into
memory, play the cd 4 times -> 4x128mb!!!!

btw you need to turn on the function and than restart winamp
to get it working.

Hmmm, ok, I'll have a look at it. It shouldn't be possible that it loads all files into memory, that's only done when the play() function is called. Maybe winamp does that for some stupid reason, but I can't imagine.
Anyway, I'll check it out.

It does not load them all at ones, but WinAmp keeps adding
every song that it plays even those it already added, so
if you replay a song 4 times it gets added 4 times to memory
and stays into memory, consuming 4 times the amount of memory.

btw this is the best forum to post bugs, right?

Never mind adding this bug, I already fixed it :-)
I did forget to free the buffer where the file was read into. Beginners mistake :-)
