[Bug] Error when disabling output device during paused playback

Version: 1.4b9
Repro steps:
  • You need removable audio device (e.g. DAC) to reproduce the bug.
  • Plug-in removable audio device, launch fb2k.
  • Choose removable audio device as output interface (Preferences -> Output -> Device -> 'your removable audio device').
  • Start playing some track.
  • Pause playback.
  • Disable your audio device (by turning off the device or disabling from Windows 'Audio' control panel).
Results: Error window with following text: "Unrecoverable playback error: Unknown error code (0x88780096)".

This error is not reproducible in v1.3.17.

Possibly because 1.3.17 actually stopped the output stream while paused, then opened it again on unpause? I'm sort of hazy on this one.

Thanks for reporting.
A fix for a nastier (but stealthier, stuck threads) bug in the output code resulted in this change of behavior.
I'm fixing it so it works the way it did before (but without the bug).
Microsoft Windows: We can't script here, this is bat country.
