Is that a bug or drastic misunderstanding on my side?

In ReFacets, I have a column with simply:
Code: [Select]
if2(%work%,%album%)
But there will be no entries listed which don't have %work%, but have %album%. Those (album names) are still in the "Missing tag" listing, as if I just used "%work%"

Latest beta.

The preferences window does not support ctrl + backspace to delete the current text, although such behavior is present on the rest of panels, windows, popups, etc. On CUI and DUI. Applies to foobar V1 too.

See here:

beta24,In the dark theme mode, 1, the toolbar font is not uniform; 2, when the tabs are crowded, the tab switching is white.

To follow up on the below, it seems that for lossless sources including uncompressed, the verifier component calculates and displays audio MD5s - but apparently only 16 bit and 24 bit, not 8 nor 32 (nor float32/float64).
Another MD5 issue, with WavPack calculating it in the same endianness as the source file. It seems that foobar2000 - like FLAC - calculates it little-endian, and so fails to verify these WavPack files.

Also a wishlist item on the verifier output: yes I can sort by columns (I would have wanted filename with extension) and select, but:
Once there is an option to add to playback queue, surely it should be feasible to send to new playlist?

I have a 192000Hz/24bit 1.7gb flac file.
With foobar vers. 1.5.8 runs fine, with vers. 2.0 beta 24 tells me that the file is corrupt or unsupported format. reference libFLAC 1.2.1 20070917.

I don't know if some flac library needs to be updated.

Re: foobar2000 v2.0 bugs

@ApacheReal : The FLAC library has been updated to one that detects much more errors. There have been a lot of such threads here, the most recent being this: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,123715.0.html

What does the verification say? In v2 it is built-in, the old needs this component: https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_verifier
Are do they report same MD5s?

I wonder if Peter could save himself many quite a lot of questions by including an older FLAC version and whenever a .flac throws an error, run it through the old version to see if the errors are the same, and report an explanation if not.

Re: foobar2000 v2.0 bugs

What I can say that the flac file is not corrupted.

I converted the flac file to wav 24/192 with foobar2000 vers. 1.5.8

Put the wav files in foobar2000 v2.0 beta24 and verified that they were read I proceeded to convert them back to flac 24/192

I don't know more.

I reported the problem, because I think there is something wrong.

Re: foobar2000 v2.0 bugs

Which file did come out corrupted? The one before conversion to WAVE or the one after?

Most of these files that now give errors or warnings, have had ID3 tags written to them by EAC, but this is a high resolution.

Edit: Just because conversion with 1.5.8 does not lead to any objections, it doesn't mean the file is OK - because 1.5.8 uses a FLAC version that does less checks. If you look at https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,123219.msg1017891.html#msg1017891 you will see a file that was supposed to be 16 bits, but when you decode it, it turns out one channel needs 18 bits and the other needs even more.

XD I love the infinite amount of reports with Playlist Organizer these days, even when people warned this would happen and the component has been reported to be broken since years.

But there it is, at the components list, without a warning. Keep sending reports please, it's really funny. Wonder when we will change the current components model, instead of talking about the philosophy of software.

foobar2000 v2.0 beta24: In Playlist Organizer, right click on a folder, using the popped up context menu, create a new playlist --> Bug. Here is a video of it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z7gjs08iqo70p4c/Video.mp4?dl=0

Just to be clear in case 3 reports in a year about the component being broken since 2015 is not clear enough. (it's also broken on V1)
IT WILL NOT BE UPDATED; PEOPLE PLEASE STOP USING IT AND REPORTING BUGS.

When I open the console window, I often get a "database is locked" error. It occurs when foobar2000 is loaded. And while I can't be specific, it often happens when I try to play a particular file.
There seems to be a delay in the operation of foobar2000 when this DB error occurs.

The bugs I found so far appear to be GUI related.

  • Double clicking on a visualization doesn't go to full screen mode.
  • Double clicking with a full screen visualization doesn't exit full screen mode.
  • Exiting full screen mode with a visualization causes it to reshape to the size of the screen and not remember the size and position of where it was last at.
  • Before the open file box pops up (shortcut CTRL + O) any highlighted items in the playlist disappear completely for a brief second before reappearing.

Would Autoplaylist fit here? Also, compatibility with the remote tool?

Hi,
have a Problem with Beta 25-x64 / Win10 Pro.
When I edit Tags via Properties-Dialog (FLAC FIles) and then save it, Foobar gets unresponsive with 1 Core runs at 100%.
Must kill it with the Taskmanager.
Tags are written.

Yesterday I haven't time to present more Information.

If I edit the Tags on Files which are in my Media Library Path, after saving them, the Properties Dialog don't close and Foobar gets unresponsive.

1 Core gets up to 100%.

A minor bug, but it seems like the "Visualisation update interval" setting no longer works when the visualiser is put on fullscreen mode. Unfortunately, I'm unable to tell which beta update may have caused the change.

Cue file (multiple tracks onto single FLAC) hangs for ages before playing. Running over a network from a USB2 drive so it's not the fastest but it worked better on the previous version (although that had its own issues in that it paused between tracks - even when playing from the same FLAC - which was why I tried the beta...)

Status bar just shows "Starting playback...", and nothing on the console other than

Opening track for playback: "\\netpath\\Music\StayTheFunkAtHome5.cue" / index: 1

Playing the FLAC file on its own doesn't have nearly as bad a startup time (2 minutes vs <5s). Is FB2k trying to scan every file in the cue before it starts, and doing it multiple times on the same file?

Edit: same pause if I make the mistake of jumping to another track in the cue (so still within the same flac), so it's not just that it's pre-caching some data.

Edit 2: oh, it does it between tracks too.

Hi. I've a bug with foobar2000 beta 26-x86 on Win11 Pro.
When the UAC window opens asking for administrator rights, the player crashes if the main window is not minimized (if it is minimized, crashes happen every other time).
I will attach the last four dumps.

P.S.: nvd3dum.... I assumed that this is due to the included visualizers (and specifically the oscilloscope), but my assumption turned out to be wrong. I do not know what to do.
P.P.S.: My computer has two video adapters, and the player runs on a weaker video adapter. I can't say exactly what version the problems started with, but the first dump was created on January 18th. Then I did not pay attention to it.

I have 2.0 beta 26 x64. But I didn't found any consistency in crashes except open foobar2000, wait 5+ min, do any action with it =< crash. I have sent 5 reports already. Had no problems with previous installed beta 24.

Hi. I've a bug with foobar2000 beta 26-x86 on Win11 Pro.
When the UAC window opens asking for administrator rights, the player crashes if the main window is not minimized (if it is minimized, crashes happen every other time).
Moreover, the player crashed after I left the game (closed the application). Both applications are rendered on the same monitor, but through different video accelerators. If necessary, I will send a dump (the program offered to send the report, and I did it).

Problem whit plugin ZXTune Player and foobar2000 v2.0

The .dsf file don't start.

Drag and Drop in playlist don't work.

Loop processed file.

Removed the plugin the .dsf files worked again.

.dsf = Direct Stream Digital (DSD) not Sega Dreamcast format (DSF)
