Upsampling to DSD 256 with Gustard Dac

I am able to upsample .flac files over DOP to DSD 128 to the Gustard X20U Dac with no problem.  The driver I have allows me to upsample to DSD 256 via USB using HQ player although HQ player overloads my CPU in this configuration.  When I change the DSD output in foobar from DSD 128 to 256 I get an unrecoverable playback error.  I believe my settings are correct since I can upsample to DSD 128 with no problem.  Not sure if there is a work around for this?

Using Foobar v 1.3.10, asio proxy 0.8.3, SACD 0.9.6
