Mpeg4ip 1.0RC1 released

Summary: 1.0 Release Candidate 1 released

I've released 1.0 Release Candidate 1. We're very happy about
the quality of this release, due to the work on mp4live.

We will wait probably 2 weeks to let people test it out, then will
release our 1.0 release. We don't plan on changing much
between now and then, other than reported bugs.

The changes include:
Fixed non-compliance in mp4live created ISMA files with 0 length frames
Updated profile @ level defines for audio and video
Added V4L2 support for mp4live
Fixed audio/video longterm lipsync problems in mp4live
Added support for ffmpeg encoder
Added support for released verions of xvid and faac encoders
User fixes for several areas - porting and others
ISO decoder speed up by Richard Chen
Support for iTunes metadata

I can't get it to build in mingw or the intel compiler.  Strange, previous versions were always fine.  Anyway, I guess I will have to wait till it goes 1.0 in 2 weeks and then maybe someone will put up a build at rarewares .

Will MP4 creation from DivX5 AVIs with b-frames still result in MP4 spec incompliant files ?

the issue isnt really clear
in fact no muxer available is unpacking divx5 packed bitstreams atm (but the 3ivx guys are already working on such a muxer)

the muxing from avis containing xvid shouldnt be a problem
