Nero 48 kbit/s HE-AAC (+v2) Test Announcement

Dear All,

I would like to announce that the 48 kbps test of upcoming Nero AAC encoder has just started. The purpose of this test is to determine which bit allocation mode gives the highest quality, and how big is the quality difference between ABR, CBR and VBR encoding modes.

Test Location

Test thread with instructions how to do it is here:

Codecs Used

HE-AAC and HE-AAC v2, encoded at 48 kbps in CBR, ABR and two VBR modes.
High Anchor: MP3 at 128 kbps (LAME -b128)
Low Anchor: MP3 at 48 kbps (LAME -b48)

Total 14 samples are available for each test set (test 1 and test 2) exposing wide potential range for measuring codec performance.

Happy Testing!
