Best affordable music smart phones for audiophiles.

Hi first I will explain what is the meaning of specialized component for audio processing. I think that many of you heard music from music systems like onkyo, Sony 5.1 or 7.1 sound systems and at the same time you heard music from normal speakers.

You can't get rich experience from normal speakers but when you hear music from music systems like onkyo, Sony you can get. If you think how its possible then the main reason is they have specialized components for audio processing like DAC,amps which maximize sound quality.

I am trying to get such rich experience while listening to music using good smartphone and normal earphones I mean not extraordinary. This is possible only when the smartphone we are going to use has specialized component for audio processing like DAC, amps.

There are some smartphones Samsung galaxy s10 edge, razor phone, I phone which have specialized components for audio processing like DAC, amps and also costs huge amount.

There is another solution for this ie., to search for a smartphone which has specialized component for audio processing like DAC, amps etc., and at the same time affordable.

From the past 10 days I have searched web a lot and selected some models. I am providing them below.

The following models definitely have separate audio processing units like DACs, amps and so highly recommended to buy.

1) LG G6
Has quad DAC, dust resistant features.
     Costs around 19500/- Indian currency

2) ZTE Axon 7
     Has DAC
     Costs around 14000/- Indian currency.

3) Alcatel idol 4s
Has two separate audio processing units.
     Costs around 14000/- Indian currency

The following models have features like Dolby atmos, DTS but I don't know whether they have separate audio processing units.

1) LG Q7+TM
    Has DTS: X feature
    Costs around 16000/- Indian currency

2) honor play
    Has huwaei audio technologies feature
    Comes with 3500 mah battery
    Costs around 15000/- Indian currency

3) honor 8X snapdragon 660 processor version not krion processor version.
     Has Dolby surround technology
     Comes with 5000 mah battery
     Costs around 16000/- Indian currency

If you can spend more amount you can get smartphone with latest technologies like 5G etc.,. Some of the phones which have separate processing unit like DAC,amp are

1) All G series phones from LG company and the latest is LG G7 think and it costs around 50000/- Indian currency.

2) All V series phones from LG company and the latest is LG V40 think and it costs around 50000/- Indian currency.

3) All S series phones from Samsung company and the latest is Samsung galaxy s10 and it costs around 60000/- Indian currency.

Please try to add your own recommendations to this thread I mean other smartphones which produce good audio.

I have created this thread in order to help other audiophiles who are searching for a smartphone with good audio quality. I think that if you share your experiences regarding good smartphone and audio quality everyone like me will be benefited.

Provided they still have a headphone jack, any phone will have a suitable DAC/amp. There is little difference between them.

Didn’t know that I must do postprocessing on content that was never intended to have it in order to fully enjoy it.

Thanks for being my savior by telling me, though.

This effort is futile for modern audiophiles because none of these phones seem to play MQA.
Is troll-adiposity coming from feederism?
With 24bit music you can listen to silence much louder!

The only things worth worrying about with smartphone audio is does it have a headphone jack and how loud can it go through the headphone jack.  The first is easier to find out, the later often takes some digging.

iPhone 6s $140 used. Battery is fine. Measures taken to prevent being bothered from installing updates from Apple which may or may not brick my phone but they don’t care.

Bullshit audiophile grade DACs and gimmicky surround sound? <snort>

...and I don’t even use this thing for music. My car has a 3G iPod touch and my 2-channel Yamaha/Paradigm system from the ‘90s is being fed by a 1G iPad.

Any phone which has headphone Jack doesn't provide always good quality audio.

Many phones produce sound at very low volume. But the phone which has amplifier produce sound in high volume. Likewise DAC does.

All phones with headphone jacks have amplifiers. Without one you don't get sound. There is little difference in output volume, about 4-7 dB.

Some countries do restrict the maximum volume of headphones in software as a safety precaution. If you have one of those it will be about 10 db quieter with the volume limit enabled.

JUST TO ADD:
Some phones such as the ones Samsung makes also annoy you with a warning and reduce the volume. something they provide no option for turning it off (at least with the model I got).  You can often sort of work around this with third party volume management apps if you need the extra volume or if you're comfortable enough you can just root the phone.  I'm in the USA and there really is no regulation I know of when comes to volume caps, so I found it bit strange.

Anyway, if you do have a problem with volume caps on your particular make and model that you use and you can't turn it off or work around it, you can also root or jailbreak the phone.

He's being sarcastic.

Just get any phone, install foobar2000 and use it to play your music - if music is all you care about.
Probably not the answer you were expecting, but that's the truth.

So this entire thread must be sarcastic since it’s founded on being able to get a “rich experience” from a phone?

“You can't get rich experience from normal speakers but when you hear music from music systems like onkyo, Sony you can get. If you think how its possible then the main reason is they have specialized components for audio processing like DAC,amps which maximize sound quality.”

Yes, sarcasm. Got it.

Hi please have a look at the following links

Neither of those links contains any useful information. If you're expecting to look at marketing materials and discern a difference between a lot of more or less equivalent devices, that isn't going to work. Just flip a coin at that point.

It seems as if I get the "cheap" phone from MetroPCS, my chances of getting high quality are not that good?

Seems pretty clear to me you won't...unless...it has that rather unambiguous "Onkyo/Sony 7.1 specialized amp/dac processing quality".

cheers,

Btw, is it just me, or have we asymptoted to poor quality trolling lately?

I saw this person trolling here about half year ago, they wrote something about radiation exposure from headphones. https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,116892.msg964847.html#msg964847
I probably know where they're coming from. There are several things about their posts and nickname obviously "inspired" by a certain "community" on one imageboard.

The OP probably thinks he's being helpful.  However, expressing an opinion as fact isn't helpful.  rupeshforu3 is not the final arbiter of sound quality nor does he speak on behalf of Hydrogen Audio.
